Bee Dance

Last night ...

As I waited 

for sleep

to come for me,

I began to imagine

Me as a bee

Buzzing

and

Dancing

the instructional

directional

interpretive dances.

You know ....

Those bee dances

Sharing the

Way and where 

of the new 

Honey sources?

But my dance

Would direct

others to 

Dreamland.

an imposition

A Gathering ...

We come together, 

from hither and thither,

one by one,

each with our strand of yarn,

a strand we've 

held and treasured,

but now it's time to 

weave something 

new together 

we can all take home to share

and share

and share again ...

It's incredible, isn't it?

Here I am before you

Appearing like a real life adult.

All the correct parts

A pleasant expression

Yet ...

Beneath this quiet exterior

Are two nine year olds

One standing on the other's shoulders

Both doing their nine year old best

to keep the illusion alive.
